Seneschal Report
1. Sorry unable to attend this week. Got new job, that once the training is over will keep me in
Gastonia. But the training is in Raleigh.
2. Completed the Seneschal class at WOW. All hoops for becoming Seneschal have been completed.
3. Notes from the October Baronial Business Meeting
A. Office openings – Herald, Chirugeon and Exchequer. Need applications by Nov meeting so
can get published. Polling will happen in December.
B. Chatelaine - Ran low on clothes at WOW.
c. Chronicler - Needs stuff. Got articles - exchange for profuse thanks.
d. Discussion of WOW bids. Polling will occur at the November meeting.
e. Next BARIONAL meeting will be November 17 - China Buffet; 205 N Arlington St.; Salisbury,
NC 28144
OLD BUSINESS
1. Largess Meeting for October 23rd – How did it go? Do we want to attempt more?
2. Gift Baskets – In a Phoenix’s Eye (Nov 9) and Hawkwood Birthday (April 25-27)
a. Did we get one together for Phoenix Eye? How could we do better for Hawkwood?
b. Money related to gift basket – Lydia spent about $15 – she has the receipt.
3. December Holiday Party – What date? Who would like to host? What will occur? Gift exchange? Food?
Dance? Talking – well, definitely talking.
5. Dance Practice – Wonderful practice on October 6th. Discussion in October meeting of maybe having
a monthly dance practice. Location needed. Elizabeth will look into Dance Practice on Gaston College
campus.

1. Canton Financial Policy – Delay until Dec.
2. Discussions outside of meeting – In October touched base on using DISCUSSIONS on Facebook and
e-mail list. Need more time to evaluate effectiveness. Should evaluate in December.

) – Our A&S minister was elevated (Mistress Virag Qarabay); Lady Elizabeth
Sabine de Northumberland ran some awesome ball activities; Lord Vincenzo d'Estes kicked tuckus during
the heavy Torchlight Tournament.
b. In a Phoenix Eye (Nov 9
th
) – Judges and organization of judges included work from the following
members of our Canton: Duchess Brianna O’Duinn; Maestra Lidia de Ragusa; Master Talorgen nei
Wrguist; and Lady Prudence the Curious.
c. Other events with Canton news?
2. Future Canton Events
a. Flight of the Falcon (2014 August) – bid, autocrat. Discussion – Yes, interested in hosting again. Lord
William will look into Rural Hill. Still would need autocrat.
b. Runestone Collegium (2014 November) – Bid, autocrat, location – We wanted the numbers from In a
Phoenix Eye before moving forward with discussion on this – there were 77 people in attendance at the
Eye (54 the previous Phoenix Eye). Discussion about event – 6 rooms and a common area should be
enough. Need to break event with 75 people for Collegium at roughly $5 a person. Event bids need to be
turned in 9 months in advance – so Jan or Feb to be presented to the Barony. Lord William will look into
pricing for Collegium at Lincoln Cultural Center.
